Buttoning your Suit – Rules to Follow!


Buttoning your suit is not an easy job especially for those who are first to wear this versatile piece.  This is not a coding so it’s okay. Read our guide to know more about this.

·         If you are styling this classic outfit that certainly means that you have got an attitude and pride.
·         It spruce up your look perfectly.

·         If you are wearing this perfectly, then it never lets you face an embarrassment or awkwardness if your buttons are snapped in public.

·         If you don’t wear the outfit properly there is no point to even look at it in future.

Single Breasted Suit

  • With one button: When you are standing; always button up your coat and while sitting button is backed up. This simple rule matters a lot.
  • With two buttons:  Always remember to button up the top button not the lower one.
  • With three buttons:  The rule says: Buttoning the top button is optional, middle one necessary and the lower never button them. To avoid wrinkles unbutton while taking a seat.
Double Breasted Suit:
Double Breasted suit are famous for the total numbers, it can be set of minimum 4 or maximum 8.  Moreover, only two sets of buttons are functional and the remaining set of buttons is just for the decorative purposes. The first button represents the total buttons on your suit whereas the second slot of buttons represents the functional buttons.  The main rule is keeping the habit of buttoning the functional buttons when you are standing always a good idea.
